Essay’s critical appraisal

essay''s critical appraisal

The urge to write down a meaning or a statement is an experience that almost everybody had. Professional writers do stand on one extreme point of this writing urge in a way that is much likened to a tree that provides fruits with time. In other words, for some people writing and composing is as much as a compulsive behavior. The first person to judge this humanitarian act of writing is always the writer. Although the drive may be quite lively, the essay would pass certain phases of revision, refinement and polishing before it could be made available for the candidate reader. On doing so, the writer should not only be keen on grammatical and syntactic form but also on instantaneity, spontaneity and originality. Here, one could see the talent of writing like an art of passion and reasoning.

The palatability of an essay is far beyond objective assessment being a sincere effort and a personal secret. Though the art of writing, like any other work, can be learned, the value of the text would be attributable to person’s essence rather than the essay’s weavings. Here are some parameters that can be considered on critically appraising an essay.

  1. Instantaneity: this could show the drive and urge to write that essay.
  2. Spontaneity: this could concern the passion and honesty of the writer.
  3. Originality: this could attribute the essay to the writer directly as compared to plagiarism.
  4. Novelty: this could point to the unprecedented thoughts of the writer.
  5. Logic: this could reflect the agreement of the essay with the fair human reasoning.
  6. Wording: this could refer to the appropriateness of the used words and expressions.
  7. Grammar and syntax: these could handle with language usages and word forms.

Formulating reading and designing of learning maps

formulating reading
Reading texts is one of the most joyful skills of humans. The pleasure and engagement that one has on reading a text depend on some factors, among which are the interest in the topic, the fineness of the language, the accepted logic and the style of the writer. The more the reader is aware of such factors the greater his/her joy or inconvenience is. In this respect plays reading of well written texts an important role in fulfilling this high humanistic skill and establishing a good industry of writing.

Written texts, even those of pure scientific purpose, contain much superfluous words and phrases that are put inevitably by the writer to confer a sort of subjectivity to the text like a fingerprint. Accordingly, reducing the size of the text would be sometimes necessary and courageous task to save much time in picking pearls of knowledge from the terribly tangled jungles of talented and attractive writers, even if sometimes this text reduction be on the expense of the magnificent writing style.

Formulating reading and designing of learning maps are the concern of not only students who have to go through hundreds or thousands of papers to pass a graduation exam or to present a seminar, but also everybody who would communicate with written texts and who wishes to adapt to a typical literate society and culture.
